White Matter and Cognition in Parkinson’s Disease.   New Investigator Training Grant to investigate the role of white matter on cognitive function in idiopathic nondemented Parkinson’s disease relative to age and education matched healthy adults.  Research recruitment is very near completion and we are currently analyzing data (HARDI techniques) and collaborating with mentor Thomas Mareci, Ph.D, Director of Center for Structural Biology.

NHLBI RCI HL 100195-01 (PI: Beaver)  Invasive Surgical Pulmonary Vein Isolation versus Medial Management in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation.  Catherine Price, Ph.D., and one of the graduate students serve a co-investigators for examining changes in white matter on cognitive function in individuals randomly placed into one of two treatment groups.
